My works are created using diverse mediums including discarded bird-feathers, textile and natural fibres of various kinds. These materials are witness to decay and renewal, cycles of life and death; they hold narratives that are rooted in non-verbal histories, and surpass conventional readings and definitions. There is deliberate labour and physical exertion involved in the employment of techniques like sewing, stitching, tying, knotting and repetitive actions, that assimilate the politics of domestic occupation as well as that of craft and the ‘handmade’. The laborious processes also symbolise bodily pain on the one hand, and on the other, the interconnectedness and mediative aspects involved in creating.
